ついに台湾に上陸しました！まずはタクシーに乗り、今回滞在する新北市の「淡水（たんすい）」へ向かいます。空港からタクシーでの所要時間は1時間弱でした。淡水は台北市内からMRT（電車）などで約45分の距離にあり、台北から日帰りで行ける人気の観光地です。しかし、近年は都市開発が進んでおり、観光地としてだけでなく、住みやすいニュータウンとしても人気が高まっています。
Finally landed in Taiwan! First, I hopped in a taxi headed for Tamsui in New Taipei City, where I'll be staying this time. The taxi ride from the airport took just under an hour. Tamsui is about 45 minutes from downtown Taipei by MRT (train) and is a popular day-trip destination from Taipei. However, in recent years, urban development has progressed, and it's growing in popularity not only as a tourist spot but also as a livable new town.
終於抵達台灣！首先搭乘計程車前往本次停留的新北市「淡水」。從機場搭乘計程車約需一小時。淡水距離台北市内搭乘捷運約45分鐘車程，是從台北當日往返的熱門觀光地。然而近年隨著都市開發進程，此地不僅作為觀光勝地，更因宜居的新城區形象而日益受到青睞。
そして、今回泊まる場所に到着。目の前に現れた建物を見て、思わず「え、これ高級マンションじゃないですか！？」と声が出そうになりました。想像していたよりもずっと立派で、すごい場所です。
And then I arrived at our lodging for this trip. Seeing the building before me, I almost blurted out, “Wait, isn't this a luxury apartment complex!?” It was far more impressive than I'd imagined—an amazing place.
抵達這次下榻之處。望見眼前矗立的建築，不禁脫口而出：「咦？這不是高級公寓嗎！？」比想像中更為氣派，真是個了不起的地方。
そして、部屋からの眺めはまさに最高！窓の外には、台北市内までゆったりと続く「淡水川」が広がっています。 さらに、現在建設中だという「淡江大橋（たんこうおおはし）」もはっきりと見えました。聞いた話では、あの橋が完成すると、先ほど私が通ってきた桃園空港からのアクセスが、わずか30分ほどに短縮されるそうです。 この利便性を考えれば、この淡水エリアの開発は、今後ますます続いていきそうです。
And the view from the room is absolutely spectacular! Outside the window, the Tamsui River stretches out, flowing leisurely all the way to downtown Taipei. Furthermore, the “Tamsui Bridge,” currently under construction, was clearly visible. I heard that once that bridge is completed, access from Taoyuan Airport—which I just passed through—will be shortened to just about 30 minutes. Considering this convenience, development in the Tamsui area seems likely to continue growing even more in the future.
MRTの乗り方もいまいち分からないまま、なんとか乗車。長旅で体は疲れているはずなのに、車窓から見える景色がすべて新鮮で、移動中は気づけばずっと窓の外を眺めていました。
Still unsure how to ride the MRT, I somehow managed to board. Though my body should have been weary from the long journey, every sight outside the window felt fresh, and before I knew it, I'd spent the entire ride gazing out the window.
雖然對捷運的乘車方式仍不太清楚，總算還是搭上了車。長途跋涉的身體理應疲憊不堪，但車窗外映入眼簾的景致卻無一不顯得新鮮，移動途中不知不覺間，我始終凝望著窗外。
台北松山空港に到着し、少し遅れてしまいましたが、無事に姉と合流できました。ほっとしたのも束の間、わざわざ電車を乗り継いで迎えに来たというのに、姉から「（どこかへ寄るのではなく）そのままマンションへ戻る」と言われてしまいました。というわけで、私たちは再び淡水へUターンすることに。 （帰りはタクシーに乗り、マンションへ直行しました。）
We arrived at Taipei Songshan Airport a bit late, but managed to meet up with my sister safely. My relief was short-lived, though—even though I'd gone out of my way to take train to pick her up, she told us, “Let's just go straight back to the apartment” (instead of stopping anywhere else). So, we ended up turning around and heading back to Tamsui. (On the way back, we took a taxi and went straight to the apartment.)
抵達台北松山機場後，雖然稍稍遲到了些，但總算順利與姊姊會合。剛鬆了口氣，姊姊卻說：「（不繞道去別處）直接回公寓吧」——明明是特地轉乘電車來接我。於是我們只好再次折返淡水。（回程搭了計程車，直奔公寓而去。）
姉と合流し、タクシーで淡水のマンションへ戻る途中、車窓から懐かしい建物が目に入りました。「あ、あれ圓山大飯店だ！」そこには、昔訪れたことがある、あの特徴的な赤いホテルの姿がありました。私がそれに気づいた様子を見て、タクシーの運転手さんがとても親切な対応をしてくれて、私が写真が撮れるように、わざわざ車のスピードをぐっと落として、ゆっくり走ってくれました。
After meeting up with my sister, we took a taxi back to our apartment in Tamsui. On the way, a familiar building caught my eye through the window. “Oh, that's the Maruyama Grand Hotel!” There stood that distinctive red hotel I had visited long ago. Seeing that I had noticed it, the taxi driver was incredibly kind. He deliberately slowed the car down significantly and drove slowly so I could take a photo.
與姊姊會合後，搭計程車返回淡水公寓的途中，車窗外映入一棟令人懷念的建築。「啊，那是圓山大飯店！」眼前正是當年造訪過的、那棟獨具特色的紅色飯店身影。計程車司機見我驚呼的模樣，便親切地配合我的要求，特意大幅減速緩緩行駛，讓我得以順利拍照。
淡水のマンションに戻るやいなや、まったく休む間もありません。すぐに、今回の台湾「帰省」における最大の目的である「戸籍登録」の手続きをするため、新北市淡水の市役所へと向かいました。（長旅と移動続きで、この頃には疲れと眠気がピークに達しており、意識はもうフラフラ。）
As soon as I returned to my apartment in Tamsui, there was absolutely no time to rest. I immediately headed to the Tamsui City Hall in New Taipei City to complete the household registration procedures—the primary purpose of this trip back to Taiwan. (After the long journey and constant travel, my fatigue and drowsiness had peaked by this point, and my consciousness was already drifting.)
甫回到淡水公寓，便毫無喘息之機。隨即為辦理此次台灣「返鄉」之行最重要的目的——「戶籍登記」手續，直奔新北市淡水區公所。（長途跋涉與接連奔波，此時疲憊與睡意已達巔峰，意識幾乎搖搖欲墜。）
市役所での（大変な）用事が無事に終わり、ほっと一息。私たちは淡水駅のすぐ前にある、眺めのいいレストラン「1010湘淡水店」で、少し早めの午後5時からディナーを楽しむことにしました。
After successfully completing our (difficult) business at city hall, we breathed a sigh of relief. We decided to enjoy an early dinner starting at 5 PM at the scenic restaurant “1010 Xiang Tamsui Branch,” located right in front of Tamsui Station.
在市政府辦完（繁瑣的）公務後，終於能鬆一口氣。我們決定提早於下午五點，在淡水車站正對面、擁有絕佳景觀的餐廳「1010湘淡水店」享用晚餐。
ご飯を食べ終わる頃には、疲れと眠気で意識はもう朦朧としていました。正直、どうやってあのマンションまで帰ったのか、はっきりとは覚えていません。ともかく、こうして怒涛の台湾一日目は無事に（？）終了したのでした。
By the time I finished eating, exhaustion and drowsiness had already clouded my consciousness. Honestly, I don't clearly remember how I made it back to that apartment building. Anyway, this way, the whirlwind first day in Taiwan had come to a safe (?) end.
吃完飯時，疲憊與睡意已讓意識朦朧不清。老實說，究竟是如何回到那棟公寓的，我已記不清了。總之，這般跌宕起伏的台灣首日行程，就這樣平安（？）落幕了。
あれだけ意識が朦朧としていたので、その後の記憶は曖昧なのですが、写真フォルダにはこんな一枚が残っていました。どうやら私、寝る前にコンビニへ「ヤクルト」を買いに行っていたようです。しかし台湾のヤクルトはとにかくデカい！ 写真の右側に写っているものですら、日本の標準的なサイズと比べて1.5倍はありそうです。さらに驚くのは、真ん中に鎮座している特大ボトル。 これはもう、3倍近い大きさがあるのではないでしょうか。
My consciousness was so hazy at the time that my memories afterward are vague, but this one photo remained in my folder. Apparently, I went to the convenience store to buy Yakult before bed. But Taiwanese Yakult bottles are just huge! Even the one on the right in the photo looks about 1.5 times larger than the standard Japanese size. What's even more surprising is the extra-large bottle sitting right in the middle. That one must be nearly three times bigger.
當時意識如此朦朧，之後的記憶已模糊不清，但照片資料夾裡留存著這張影像。看來我睡前曾跑去便利商店買「養樂多」。但台灣的養樂多瓶身實在巨大！照片右側那瓶與日本標準尺寸相比，體積至少有1.5倍。更驚人的是正中央鎮守的超大瓶裝——這尺寸恐怕接近三倍之巨吧。
